Spring Trend: Pastel Nails

Spring is finally here and as we make the transition from gloom to bloom, we are all prepping for all our warm weather outfits! So out with the dull and in with the brights!

Pastels are an easy way to ease into the brights trend and Pastel nails are hot right now PLUS it's a quick and fun way to jump on to the pastel wagon! So hop on board with e.l.f's Top Nail Polish Picks!

A creamy chocolatey beige that looks good enough to eat, just like ice-cream on a hot summers day!

This pretty pastel purple looks gorgeous teamed with white and cream tones making it perfect for Spring! This one by e.l.f. Cosmetics is the pretty but not overly girly thanks to its muted tone!

Mint Cream is one of the hottest colour's for Spring/Summer 2012. It's bold but wearable at the same time! It's neutral tones compliments almost all skin tones too!

Bubblegum Pink

Bubblegum Pink is the classic girly colour with a modern twist. It's creamy finish and high gloss shine is the sophisticated take on Girly Girl!

Fair Pink

Pretty Petal nails are all the rage at the moment, team it with the floral Prints, blushed cheeks and dewy skin for a romantic look! Fair Pink by e.l.f. Cosmetics is a gorgeous 'strawberry milkshake' shade in a stunning opaque finish! Wear under a glossy top coat for maximum impact!

Spring is in the air

Spring is in the air

Spring is definitely in the air (at long last) so it'll soon be time to push your winter make-up to the back of your stash.

If ever you needed an excuse to buy new cosmetics, this is it!

Warmer days will make way for lighter foundation, subtle spring shades and waterproof mascara. And if Kate Nash's recent make-up look in the video for new single 'Doo Wah Do' is anything to go by, coral is back!

Think cutesy, barely there coral lips teamed with rosy pink cheeks and a quick flick of liquid liner for a Twiggy-esque retro look.

Keep eyeshadow simple and chic with warm pink and peach tones and follow with a slick of mascara.

In keeping with the ice cream colours catwalk trend, try pastel pinks, lilacs and baby blues on the nails and fake the tan with a hint of bronzer.

We're looking forward to hitting the beach already! Now, where's those sunnies?

What make-up will you be digging out this coming season?

New Half Moon Nails

New Half Moon Nails

We’ve all gone mad for New Moon at the cinema but how about half moon nails? Get in the Twilight mood this December and create your very own burlesque inspired half moon nails and be part the latest trend to sweep the beauty world.

If ever there’s a time to experiment with your make-up then Christmas parties are an ideal excuse to vamp up your talons. The half moon manicure gets its name because the nails are completely polished, except for the lighter, half-moon shape at the base of your fingernails. Those areas are left bare, creating a clean, cool silhouette that is so 1940s.

Try creating this look by following the step by step on this link using e.l.f. Nail Polish in White and offset with Plum or Light Red to get you in a merry Christmas mood. If you’re feeling a little daring then why not try more of a contrasting colour in the half moon? This one’s not easy, but with practice you’ll get better and think of all those comments you’ll get at Christmas.

What colours do you think you’ll try for Christmas? Let us know how you get on with your very own half moon nails.
