Autumn makeup trends 1/3

Autumn is a great time to start experimenting with bolder, darker styles and thanks to e.l.f. you can afford to try a range of new looks and styles without worrying about the hefty price tag.  These three new looks for autumn 2010 will (almost!) have you waiting with bated breath for the leaves to start turning…

Vampy 18th Century Doll

This look combines the styles of Marie Antoinette, porcelain dolls and vampires made popular by films such as the Twilight Saga.

Lead the way with e.l.f.’s Mineral Eyeshadow in Glamorous and Temptress (£3.00 each), coupled with the e.l.f. professional Dramatic Lash Kit (£1.50) to create a look that’s streets ahead in the style stakes.  Become the talk of the town with Mineral Lipstick in Royal Red (£3.50) and a touch of Studio 2 in 1 Conditioning Gloss in Plumtastic (£3.50) to create a perfect pout.  Cause a stir by completing your look with Studio Blush in Berry Merry (£3.50).

Warm 80s

This modern twist on the Cyndi Lauper look of the 80s is guaranteed to make you stand out from the crowd ‘Time after Time’.

Start by gliding Liquid Eyeshadow in Coco Loco and Mocha Madness (both £1.50) over the eyelid, so the darker shades almost cover the entire eye area.  Keep eyebrows thick but groomed with Studio Eyebrow Treat & Tame (£3.50).  Lightly dust Mineral Blush in Coral (£3.50) from the apples of the cheeks to the temples and finish off with Mineral Lipstick in Cool Coral (£3.50) to create a look that pops!

Graphic Liner

Cleopatra was one of the first women to understand the importance of eyeliner in enhancing natural beauty.  This 21st Century version of the Cleopatra look is set to enchant any Mark Antony.

Take a Studio Small Precision Brush (£3.50) and draw a dramatic line around the eye or in the crease using Studio Cream Eyeliner (available in Coffee, Black, Midnight and Ivory, £3.50 each).  Alternatively, create your own shade, transforming your favourite eyeshadow in eyeliner with Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer (£3.50).  Keep lips simple by adding a coat of Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph (£3.50) and you’re good to go!

My Autumn must haves from e.l.f.? Gosh, that's not easy. Here, however is my narrowed down list.

Number one on my list has to be the Studio Bronzer in Golden  - it gives a post summer glow to your skin, allowing for a subtly, healthy glow  and if in a hurry can be used with an e.l.f. Eye Shadow Brush to sweep a touch of colour onto the lids.

My second must have is without a shadow of a doubt e.l.f.'s Mineral Eyeshadow in Celebrity, great for adding a bit of sparkle to the eyes.

e.l.f.'s Mineral Lipstick in Cool Coral looks extremely scary in the tube, but when applied to the lips is more of a coppery red with golden undertones - perfect for that Autumnal look we're all dying to achieve.

Next, I recommend e.l.f.'s Mineral Blush in Coral. This adds to the glow we wish to achieve - this little baby adds a touch of coral to our pasty faces, without over doing it.

Lastly, Cranberry  the new Nail Polish colour brought out specifically for Autumn... this brings us in touch with our deep purple-reds and subtly adds depth to our look.
