Liverpool Lasses Set the 'Roller Girl' Trend
Friday, November 20, 2009

Liverpool Lasses Set the 'Roller Girl' Trend

The 'roller girl' trend is sweeping the city with ordinarily glam gals walking around Liverpool in full sets of curlers going about their day like they’re wearing a new fashion accessory!

Rather than being called names like Hilda Ogden the girls are gaining status symbol recognition. With Liverpuddlian celebs such as Abbey Clancy, Alex Curran and Colleen Rooney kick starting this trend it’s no surprise then that the girls of the city are starting to follow suit.

Hair stylist Andrea Daly of Barbara Daly Hair and Beauty in Lime Street explained to the Liverpool Echo: "It's a status thing. It announces the fact you're going out that night and intend to have the biggest, most gorgeous hair possible."

With big and bouncy voluminous hair seen all over the Spring / Summer 2010 catwalks, it could now be time to get yourself some new curlers to walk around in, even if it’s just in the house!

What do you think of the 'roller girl' craze, have you seen anyone doing it in your town? Would you have the guts to leave the house in a full set of curlers or should it be saved for the hair salon?

Leggings that Fight the Flab

Leggings that Fight the Flab

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, the next big thing is just around the corner to answer all your prayers......ladies, I give you,  leggings which claim to melt away cellulite!

Yes, you heard it correctly, leggings that fight the flab and claim to slim hips and thighs by as much as an inch! What makes this ingenious invention even better is that the leggings will not only fight cellulite but create a seamless silhouette while doing so and all for only £15 a pair. Who needs the gym when you have the Scala Anti-Cellulite leggings?

The Scala leggings from John Lewis fit snugly and are perfect for when you need to squeeze into that figure-hugging dress while the active Bio Crystals built into the microfibre yarn absorb body heat and stimulate cell metabolism. This stimulation helps to increasing blood flow to the skin making it appears smoother and cellulite is reduced.

What do you think of the wonder leggings? Are they too good to be true or will you bagging a pair in time for the party season? Do you have any other handy hints to bust the cellulite?

Lily Allen Launches Jewellery Range

Lily Allen Launches Jewellery Range

Apart from being a singer, style icon and constant paparazzi favourite Lily Allen has found the time to create her very own funky and fun jewellery range.

She explained: “I’m really pleased with all of the designs, we worked hard on getting them exactly how we wanted them from choosing the right chain length and thickness to deciding what should be in gold and what looks better in silver. I do love the animals though - the pandas are fantastic.”

The launch of the animal inspried range, held at Claridges London also saw Lily cause a media frenzy when she revealed a little more nipple than she’d anticpated almost stealing the limelight of her new venture but it’s nothing we haven’t see before!

She explained to vogue.com: “I love jewellery, always have done. I feel that it completes an outfit. You can change your whole look just by changing which jewellery you choose to go with what you’re wearing.”

If you like the look of it or just love Lily keep your eyes peeled for when it’s launched in stores for Christmas, prices will range from £30-£100.

What do you think of Lily’s new range? Do you think she should just stick to singing or has she cracked it in the fashion stakes too?

Bagtv – The Latest Fashion Accessory?

Are you a gadget and fashion fanatic? If so, this could be THE item for you. Bagtv is a brand new and slightly crazy concept combining bespoke luxury bags with high tech electronic TV equipment.

Not content with supplying beautifully crafted handbags, the stylish bags have high quality 7in TV screens integrated into the side of them combining a TV, DVD player and picture view option.

The screen sits behind a protective transparent shield and enables the owner to literally watch Films/Videos either on DVD or downloaded to the bag. Bagtv prices start from £199 and the designs are actually quite chic, with a small flap to cover the TV screen when not in use.

Watch it while you’re on the go or to check out your latest pictures before uploading to facebook, this bag has all the mod cons with a light battery system which allows up to 2.5 hours of playtime.

Bag TV, over the top or the greatest invention? Let us know your thoughts and remember, if you post a relevant comment then we’ll send you a discount code.

Going Gaga for False Lashes

Going Gaga for False Lashes

Sales of false lashes have soared in the past year thanks to glamorous celebrities like Lady Gaga, Cheryl Cole and e.l.f. favourite Duffy all getting in on the act.

False lashes are a great and relatively cheap way to make you feel ultra glam whether it’s for a night on the town and you want the Lady Gaga look or you’re channeling the glamour puss day look like doe-eyed Cheryl Cole.

The lashy look is getting so popular even the subtly stylish Michelle Obama was seen fluttering her falsies on a recent trip to the UK! Gone are the days when lashes were reserved for drag queen acts and twiggy wannabes, everyone can get great lashes. They’re so popular in fact that stores such as Topshop, Liberties and Selfridges have opened lash bars to get your look updated while you shop.

For elf fans though, it couldn’t be easier to get this alluring look at a purse perfect price. Try our False Lashes to get a wide eyed sexy style. Not only are they a snippet at the price of most brands at £1.50 but they’re easy to apply and have a comfort grip gel that allows for multiple uses.

Get your luscious lashes on today and feel like a star!
